This teddy bear was created by teddy bear artist Miyoko Taniguchi in 1997.
She has won numerous awards, including the Gold Prize at the first Japan Teddy Bear Association contest.
It's made of mohair, with pellets stuffed in the arms and wood wool elsewhere, making it very sturdy. In addition to the outfit, the bear has an earring in its left ear, and the cushion it's holding contains potpourri.
It stands approximately 27cm tall.
My mother bought it from the Teddy Bear Museum in Harajuku around 1997 and passed it down to me. I'm currently reorganizing my collection and am looking for someone to care for it.
Since purchase, it has been stored in a glass-door cabinet. The outfit was originally given an antique finish, but there are several light brown stains around the hem and shoulder straps (see photos 7 and 8). The stains aren't particularly noticeable, but this is purely my personal opinion. Also, since it was stored in a private home for an extended period of time, there may be other stains and fading beyond those shown in the photos. Also, although it does not smell of cigarettes, there was a smoker in the family at the time. It has been stored and inspected by an amateur, so please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive to such things.
We would appreciate it if you would take good care of it, keeping the above points in mind.
