Product Introduction
This is the IBG "1/35 French 75mm Schneider M.1897 Field Gun, World War I Type" plastic model kit.
This revolutionary field gun was the world's first to feature a hydropneumatic recoil mechanism.
Prior to this gun, the lack of a recoil mechanism meant the gun would move backward with each shot, necessitating re-aiming after each shot.
The recoil mechanism dramatically increased the firing rate to 15 rounds per minute.
After this gun, various countries began developing recoil-equipped guns, and this gun was adopted by many countries in addition to France.
The wheels are horse-drawn spoke wheels.
Photo-etched parts and decals are included.
This is a plastic model kit that requires assembly and painting.
Separate adhesives, tools, paint, etc. are required for assembly and painting.
