A talented violinist with virtuosity and vocal talent makes his Sony Classical debut
■ Luca Faurisi, the world-renowned violinist praised by virtuosos as "the million-dollar violinist" (Pinchas Zukerman) and "with brilliant technique and powerful musical expression" (Emmanuel Pahud), makes his Sony Classical debut. ■The son of the founder of the flute manufacturer Folisi, Foulisi began playing the violin at the age of three and continued his studies under the virtuoso Boris Belkin. His naturally beautiful voice and technique are fresh and it's no surprise that he made his debut on a major label. His debut album is a gorgeous collection of opera arias arranged by virtuoso violinists such as Auer, Kochanski, and Zimbalist. It also includes a work in which Foulisi arranged "La Traviata" himself.
■For Foulisi, it is a joyous occasion that speaks to his musical ties: his collaboration with virtuoso Itamar Golan, who was the accompanist on the Vengerov CD that his mother listened to when he was a baby.
