Based on technical data from the Me 262 jet fighter, which was already in service with the German Air Force at the time, the Kikka was designed as Japan's first jet aircraft, with design work beginning in July 1944.

Due to delays in finalizing the Navy's plan requirements, material shortages, and repeated design changes due to engine modifications, the first prototype's maiden flight was delayed until August 7, 1945.

While the first jet flight in Japan was successful, the second test flight four days later failed to take off.

The aircraft was damaged, and the war ended without further incident.

As the first release in a new series with updated product numbers, the Kikka, a jet aircraft developed at the end of the war, is being re-released.

This is a plastic model kit that requires assembly and painting. Glue, tools, and paint are required separately.
