[Story]
The Kingdom of Arls, located far northwest of the Republic of Arland, is a small, remote country with ample room for development compared to Arland, which has made great strides through machines and alchemy.
Gio, the ruler of Arland, proposed joining the Republic to his old friend, King Dejie of Arls.
However, there were many obstacles to overcome before this could be realized.
To address the criticism of opponents, a national development project was launched to increase Arls's national power.
The decision was made to dispatch talented personnel from Arland to begin the project.
Among the dispatched team was the alchemist Totori.
Princess Meruru of Arls met Totori and was so impressed by her alchemy that she impulsively asked to become her apprentice, hoping to become an alchemist herself.
