Woody Joe 1/24 Zero Fighter Wooden Model Assembly Kit
The A6M Zero, the Imperial Japanese Navy's flagship carrier-based fighter.
Known as Japan's flagship fighter from the end of the Pacific War to the present, the Zero was the Navy's final model of carrier-based fighter and served on the front lines as the Navy's main fighter from the middle of the Second Sino-Japanese War until the end of the Greater East Asia War.
Early in the war, its superior range, heavy armament, and dogfighting capabilities led to overwhelming victories over Allied fighters, earning it the feared nickname "Zero Fighter" from Allied pilots.
However, from the middle of the war onward, its superior combat power gradually declined due to the introduction of large numbers of new Allied aircraft and the loss of veteran Japanese pilots. Toward the end of the war, it was used as a special attack aircraft.
Developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
It was also licensed and produced by Nakajima Aircraft Company, with Nakajima accounting for more than half of the total production.
The Type 52 was a modification of the Type 22, improving speed and increasing firepower through the armament line, which evolved into the Type A, Type B, and Type C.
