Bodhisattva Kannon (Avalokitesvara)
He is in charge of the Tathagata's virtue of great compassion, and as the form of Amida Buddha during his training period, he observes all laws and is able to freely remove suffering and give happiness, so he is called Avalokitesvara.
He is also called Kannon because he can instantly see sound and enable all to attain liberation.
In other words, as the principal image representing the virtue of the Tathagata's great compassion, he is called Amitabha Buddha because of his immeasurable virtue.
Because this Bodhisattva's original vow is to save the world with great compassion, he is worshipped along with the Six Kannon Bodhisattvas (Thousand-Armed, Eleven-Faced, Nyoirin, Juntei, and Bato) and the Thirty-Three Kannon Bodhisattvas (described in the Fumon-bon chapter of the Lotus Sutra).
Alternatively, he becomes a guardian deity of Amida Buddha together with Bodhisattva Seishi.
