Schisandra, also known as Chinesemagnolia vine, is a source of valuableschizandrin, which belongs to thepolyphenol group. It is a climbing plant withlong stems that can reach up to 20 metresin height. Chinese magnolia vine growsnaturally in the forests of East Asia, and itsfruits are known for their unique flavourprofile. In Asia, it has been given the name‘fruit of five flavours’ because it combinessweet, salty, sour, bitter and spicy notes.
Our Schisandra dietary supplementcontains a high content of Chinesemagnolia vine fruit extract. A daily dose of 1capsule provides as much as 550 mg ofextract, obtained from a minimum of 2200mg of Chinese magnolia vine fruit(Schisandra chinensis), DER 4:1,standardised to a minimum of 55 mg (10%)schizandrin. The amount of extract in onecapsule is obtained from 2200 mg of thefruit of this plant.
Schizandrin is a natural polyphenol, or moreprecisely a lignan, present in schisandrafruit, which gives it a distinctive characterand a complex, multidimensional flavour.This makes schisandra an interesting plantingredient with unusual sensory properties.Schisandra fruit is used to prepare amongother things infusions, jams, preserves andsyrups. As part of the supplement, it is avaluable source of polyphenols.
We recommend taking 1 capsule daily, inthe morning after a meal, with water. Thedietary supplement is available in twovariants - a pack containing 60 capsules(approx. 2 months of use) or 120 capsules(approx. 4 months of supplementation),making it easy to tailor to individual needsand preferences.
