Amass AS250 90A Power Connector Kit
The Amass AS250 kit includes red and black male and female connectors designed for making single-pole, high-current power connections. The rated operating current is 90A, the maximum peak current is 250A, and the recommended wire size is 6AWG.
Separate red and black housings make it easy to separate the positive and negative power lines. The connectors are intended for, among others, battery packs, regulators, chargers, and other DC installations requiring large cross-sectional wires.
Who is this kit for?
• I am building a power cable using 6AWG silicone wires
• I need a detachable connection to a battery pack, regulator, or charger
• I want to separately mark the positive and negative power supply paths with red and black
Who is NOT this kit for?
• I need a compact two-pole connector in one housing, such as XT60 or XT90
• I am looking for a connector with a factory anti-spark system - the AS250 datasheet does not specify the anti-spark function
• I cannot properly solder a 6AWG wire to a large contact
• Rated current 90 A - the connector is designed for heavy-duty power supply installations
• Maximum instantaneous current 250 A - the value applies to short-term load, not continuous operation
• Rated voltage 500 V DC
• Low contact resistance 0.20 mΩ reduces voltage losses and connection heating
• Silver-plated brass contacts provide a large electrical contact surface
• PA housing with flammability class UL94 V-0
• Soldered assembly to 6AWG
• Mechanical durability up to 1000 connection and disconnection cycles

Frequently asked questions
Can the AS250 operate continuously at 250 A?
No. The rated current of the connector is 90 A. The value of 250 A is the maximum instantaneous current and should not be considered as the permissible continuous current.
What wire should be used?
The manufacturer recommends 6AWG wire. Preparing the connection requires a soldering iron and tip capable of effectively heating a large contact and a wire with high thermal capacity.
Does the AS250 connector have an anti-spark function?
The data sheet for the AS250-2 model does not indicate an anti-spark function. This connector should not be considered an equivalent to the AS150U or XT90-S models with a dedicated spark suppression circuit.
• Connect and disconnect connectors only when the power is off.
• Do not exceed the rated current of 90 A or the voltage of 500 V DC.
• Do not mechanically load the wires and contacts during operation.
• Check the polarity and quality of the soldered connections before connecting.
Avifly expert advice: When soldering a 6AWG wire, first tin the wire and contact separately, and then make the connection as quickly as possible. Excessive heating may deform the connector housing.
