This short-sleeved T-shirt is made from specially treated material that provides insect repellent effects simply by wearing it. With a soft texture, comfortable fit, and UV and dry protection, it protects you from annoying summer insect bites and provides protection from the heat of summer, all in one. We also recommend wearing it together with the Bug Off Ice Inner Shirt or Bug Off Ice Sleeves, sold separately. Made with BUG OFF, the wearable insect repellent. Insect repellent is kneaded directly into the yarn, providing insect repellent effects simply by wearing it (semi-permanent lasting effect; insects sense the chemicals on the fabric and flee, so it does not protect areas not covered when worn). The fabric contains ingredients that detect mosquitoes, ticks, and other insects that land on the surface of the fabric with sensory organs on their antennae and feet, causing them to flee. (Please note that this may not be effective against larger insects such as bees and horseflies, depending on the duration of contact with the fabric.) The chemicals used are replicas of natural ingredients from the Asteraceae family, and are tasteless, odorless, and safe (certified by the international organization OEKO-TEX®). The special coating ensures long-lasting insect repellent effectiveness with high wash durability (washability: maintains over 90% effectiveness after 70 washes).
