"Prison Blues" is made by inmates in Pendleton, Oregon, USA. Founded in 1989 by the state Department of Corrections within the prison system to provide inmates with skills and opportunities for rehabilitation, all products are handmade by inmates, making them truly Made in the USA! The quality is undeniable, and they are extremely durable. Initially, they were only available to inmates within the prison system, but they are now also sold on the open market. Half of the sales go to compensation for victims, and the rest goes to brand management costs and to inmates after their release, making this a wonderful system. It's this background that makes it possible to buy American-made products at such low prices. Inmates not only produce the products, but also model for promotional materials, making them truly MADE ON THE INSIDE!
This trucker jacket from Prison Blues was handmade by prisoners. It features a chest flap pocket with an external patch, a double-layered front panel from the chest down, and a unique paneling pattern where the diagonally cut edges of the outer fabric serve as the openings for the hand pockets. Like other models, this jacket's greatest feature is its tough construction, crafted from 14.75 oz. ultra-heavy rigid denim with double stitching throughout. The contrasting orange stitching, matching bar tacks in stress-prone areas, and the woven name on the right chest and metal buttons are all engraved. Its generous fit and sleeves create a classic American silhouette. Its solid construction allows for a pleasing aging experience. We also recommend pairing it with the same brand's pants. The XS size is a special order item.
