Set in the world of Norse mythology, this cooperative game is now available in Japanese.
Face the threats spoken of in the saga of Ragnarok, the Twilight of the Gods.
In Yggdrasil Chronicles, players take on the role of one of the Asgardian gods, such as Odin, Thor, or Freyja. Accompanying the elves of Alfheim and the heroic Einherjar,
they must fight off enemies like the fire giant Surtr, the traitor Loki, and Nidhoggr, who gnaws at the roots of the World Tree, in an attempt to prevent the destruction of the world.
In the game, each world exists on the giant 3D board of the Yggdrasil tree, just like in the mythology.
The gods travel between worlds, fulfilling the conditions set out in each scenario and fending off enemy attacks to prevent the destruction of Yggdrasil.
Even if you succeed in one scenario, the situation will worsen in the next, just like in the saga, and the game will become more challenging and grueling with each volume.
The story is made up of six scenarios that unfold in the "Saga of Ragnarok," beginning with the murder of Baldr and concluding with the Battle of Vigriðr.
Each god has their own unique ability, and the items and enemies that appear are also given abilities that stem from the myth.
This is a structure befitting a "board game based on an original work," and by playing in campaign mode, you'll be able to relive Ragnarok.
